The Qatari beach volleyball team will meet its Australian counterpart tomorrow, Thursday, in its last match in the group stage of the 33rd Summer Olympic Games /Paris 2024/.
The Qatari team, consisting of the duo Sherif Younes and Ahmed Tijan, is looking forward to continuing its victories and achieving its third consecutive victory in the tournament at the expense of the Australian duo Mark Nikolaidis and Isaac Karrasher, in order to secure the top spot in Group One with a full score after having secured its advancement to the round of sixteen.
The Qatari beach volleyball team opened its campaign by defeating the Italian team, consisting of Paolo Nicolai and Samuel Kotava, in two straight sets, before beating the Swedish team, consisting of David Ahman and Jonathan Helvig, in the second match, in two sets to one.
The first and second place teams from each group qualify directly to the round of 16, in addition to the two best third-place teams, bringing the total number of qualified teams to 14.
This is the third consecutive participation of the Qatari team in the Olympic Games, as it aspires to achieve a new achievement to be added to its series of achievements at the continental and global levels, the most prominent of which is winning the gold medal in the Asian Games twice in the (Jakarta and Palembang 2018) and /Hangzhou 2022/ versions, in addition to the bronze medal in the /Tokyo 2020/ Olympics.
