The elite referees underwent practical training using two teams on the Doha Stadium field, in the presence of the Swiss Massimo Busacca, Director of the Refereeing Department at the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), with the participation of all the elite referees and under the supervision of experts, coaches and evaluators.
The practical exercises included many controversial cases, and difficult cases using players inside the field of play, and included violations inside and outside the penalty area, circumventing, crossing or not crossing the ball over the goal line, fouls in general, and many agreed-upon cases, which are previous cases. Applying it on the ground to study and analyze it.
Massimo Busacca was keen to follow the entire training, and after the training, he was keen to address the referees in which he praised the role played by the arbitration department and the referees committee of the Football Association, headed by Hani Taleb Ballan, in preparing the referees in the best way, and focusing on practical applications that make the referee live the situation practically and get used to it. Relieves pressure and increases his experience in making the right decision as quickly as possible.
Busacca said in his speech to the referees: “I am happy with the performance and level shown by the referees during the practical applications, which indicates the extent of the great effort made by the arbitration administration and the referees’ committee in order to develop Qatari arbitration, stressing that the level of Qatari arbitration has been distinguished in the recent period, calling on the referees to “Continue working hard to always achieve the best.”
Practical applications for elite referees continue periodically throughout the season, in order to develop their level by achieving the greatest benefit through practical aspects in addition to theoretical aspects through lectures, seminars and continuous video tests, to ensure that these referees are technically and physically prepared to manage matches within the framework of A plan for developing and refining the expertise carried out by the arbitration department and the referees’ committee.
