The pace of community interaction increases with each new round of the “Running and Walking in Malls Challenge” activities, which are organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation, under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, with the aim of continuing to practice sports and physical activity during the summer period, with rising temperatures, as the corridors and corridors of malls turn into a safe haven for lovers of walking and running, and the challenge in malls has achieved continuous success since the beginning of the summer season, as the number of participants, from different groups, nationalities, and ages, continues to be men. Women, youth, children and the elderly are increasing weekly and continuously, from one round to another, as the eighth round, last Friday and Saturday, recorded the participation of more than 720 participants in the challenge.
The eighth round, which was held in the mall “Doha Festival City”, last Friday morning, was marked by a record attendance, as it started at seven and continued until nine, and witnessed a distinguished participation of 600 participants, including men, women, youth, children and the elderly. As for the “Mall of Qatar”, which hosted the challenge round yesterday morning, Saturday, from eight to ten o’clock, it witnessed the participation of about 120 people, who enjoyed the accompanying activities, which make the “Running and Walking Challenge” activities in Malls are receiving increasing demand from different age groups, and many other malls are participating in the challenge, including Al Hazm Mall, Al Hayat Plaza, Tawar, Abu Sidra, Lagoona, Vendome, Ezdan Mall Al Wakra, Al Khor Mall, Al Mirqab, and Flagio. Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, appreciated the role of the malls, which open their doors and turn their corridors into running and walking tracks, and contribute to the continuity of sports activity during the summer. He extended his thanks and appreciation to all those centers that participated in making the challenge a success, stressing that the running and walking challenge in malls has its own character, within the calendar of community sports activities, as it provides solutions and provides the appropriate conditions for practicing sports during the summer period.
