Qatar Airways, the operator of the largest number of wide-body aircraft equipped with Starlink service, has achieved a major milestone in its Starlink program, as more than 100 wide-body aircraft have been equipped with the fastest in-flight internet. This achievement represents one of the fastest programs to provide aircraft with Starlink service in the aviation sector, which is currently being implemented to be completed ahead of schedule, so that the Qatari carrier can provide this service to more passengers as soon as possible.
With more than 50 percent of Qatar Airways’ wide-body fleet equipped with Starlink technology, the world’s best airline as voted by Skytrax in 2025, for the ninth time, operated more than 30,000 flights providing fast and free Internet access to passengers throughout their journey, from the moment of take-off until their arrival. This pace reinforces Qatar Airways’ leading position as the only airline in the Middle East and North Africa region that currently provides the Starlink service on board, and at the forefront of the global aviation sector in the field of long-distance air connectivity with the Starlink service.
Engineer Badr Mohammed Al Meer, CEO of Qatar Airways Group, said: “Qatar Airways continues to lead the aviation sector by setting global standards in action, not just in words. We have accelerated our program to equip our aircraft with Starlink technology, because Qatar Airways makes providing the best travel experience an urgent and urgent priority, not just a future plan. Supplying more than 100 wide-body aircraft since we launched the first Starlink-powered flight in October 2024 reflects this commitment. The Qatari carrier, the best airline in the world, now operates up to 200 flights a day equipped with the Starlink service to many major destinations to ensure that our passengers remain seamlessly connected to an Internet service that is faster than some home Internet services.
