Qatar Chamber, in cooperation with the Young Entrepreneurs Club and Qatar Postal Services Company (Qatar Post), organized a workshop entitled “International Import and Export” at the Sport Excellerator headquarters in Aspire Zone.
The workshop, which was attended by 47 participants, was attended by Mr. Hussein Al-Hajj, Digital Products Manager at Qatar Postal Services Company. The workshop discussed the basics of international import and export, and also addressed the most important benefits, challenges, and practical steps related to international import and export operations.
It also focused on several topics, including access to global opportunities, strengthening partnerships with international suppliers, understanding the terms and conditions of international trade, and how to deal with customs and comply with its regulations and licensing authorities in the country.
During the workshop, Mr. Hussein Al-Hajj said that imports and exports are important indicators and a vital element in the local economy, noting that the high level of imports indicates the strength of local demand and economic growth.
He pointed out that when net exports exceed net imports, the country has a trade surplus, which enhances economic growth, which is reflected in an increase in the rate of production and employment and the flow of more foreign money into the country.
He said that the import process involves bringing goods, services or resources from another country to the Qatari market for use, resale or manufacture, noting that it aims to obtain highly efficient products that are not available in the local market and to benefit from the low costs of production or raw materials in other countries, as well as importing the latest technologies or innovative products to maintain your competitiveness.
He explained that the export process includes selling goods, services or resources from the Qatari market to customers in other countries, noting that export contributes to expanding into global markets, increasing sales and potential revenues, diversifying their sources and enhancing the brand’s reputation.
He also expressed his thanks to the Qatar Chamber and the Young Entrepreneurs Club for organizing this important workshop and for their pioneering role in promoting entrepreneurship in the country.
