Qatar Development Bank announced the launch of the “Entrepreneurial Talent Community” program, which is the first of its kind in Qatar and the region, and provides temporary residency privileges to distinguished talents that companies attract to work from Doha. The initiative supports strengthening the ranks of experts in their work team and sustaining their success.
The “Entrepreneurial Talent Community” program, which was launched by Qatar Development Bank in cooperation with its strategic partners: Qatar Science and Technology Park, Qatar Research, Development and Innovation Council and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, aims to provide temporary housing for specialized talents attracted by emerging companies to work from Qatar.
The program seeks to create an environment that supports innovation and development, supporting the diversification and growth of the national economy, with a focus on technological and innovative sectors. The program aims to support startups by facilitating the attraction of specialized talent to work from Qatar, and enhancing cooperation between startups and Qatar Development Bank partners. The program also contributes to creating an environment that encourages innovation and knowledge exchange that helps companies grow and expand in the Qatari market, in addition to providing opportunities for emerging companies to access the resources and expertise necessary for their success.
The program aims to attract experts in the fields of technology, product development, artificial intelligence, and research and development, in addition to founders and members of management teams in emerging companies and innovative SMEs.
It also targets startups operating in the technology or innovation sector, as well as Qatari companies or companies whose main operations are concentrated in Qatar.
Regarding the companies that are eligible to join the program, the bank stated that companies belonging to the Qatar Development Bank’s portfolio and incubation programs, and companies belonging to the portfolio of strategic partners in the Qatar Science and Technology Park, the Qatar Research, Development and Innovation Council, and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, are entitled to apply.
Each company that qualifies for the program is entitled to a fully furnished housing unit free of charge. With the possibility of submitting a request to extend residency one month before the end of the current support period. The total support period, including the extension period, does not exceed six months. Companies can also apply again to the program after the end of the first six-month period.
