The National Planning Council announced that the State of Qatar has achieved a new progress in its development march by reaching the ninth center in the world in the World Competitiveness Report 2025 issued by the International Institute for Administrative Development, to register its entry for the first time in the list of the first ten countries in the global competitiveness classification. This progress reflects Qatar’s established position in economic and administrative performance indicators, and confirms the effectiveness of the long -term national policies pursued in order to implement the third national development strategy and achieve Qatar National Vision 2030.

The Global Competitiveness Report relies on evaluating the performance of 67 economies around the world through more than 330 indicators covering four main axes: economic performance, government efficiency, business environment efficiency and infrastructure. Qatar has made tangible progress in these axes, as its general rating from 11th increased in 2024 to the ninth place in 2025. It greatly contributed to this rise in the progress of the State of Qatar in the axis of the business environment efficiency, as it climbed from 11th in 2024 to fifth in the world in 2025, which reflects the continuous reforms to enhance the flexibility of the labor market, stimulate entrepreneurship, and enable the private sector. In the infrastructure axis, Qatar has advanced three salaries, indicating the state’s continued strategic investments in the sectors of transport, education, health and digital structure.

Commenting on this progress, His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Secretary -General of the National Planning Council, stated: “The entry of Qatar within the top ten globally in the competitiveness report is a real testimony to the clarity of our strategic vision, the solidity of our institutions, and the integration of our national efforts. And sustainable to all.
