Portuguese Pedro Martinez, Al Gharafa coach, confirmed his team’s readiness for tomorrow’s match against Al Ahli, which will be hosted by Al Thumama World Cup Stadium, in the second round of the Qatar Football League “Ooredoo Stars League” for the season (2024-2025).
Al Gharafa coach said in a statement during the press conference preceding the match that his team is living in a positive atmosphere after its deserved qualification to the group stage of the AFC Champions League for the elite and its victory over Shabab Al Ahli of the Emirates.
He continued: The team is looking forward to continuing its victories against Al-Ahly, as all the players are in good condition, as the level of confidence has increased, and this is a good thing, noting that the competitor has a number of distinguished players, and the task will be difficult for him.
He pointed out that the team will miss the efforts of Uruguayan Fabricio Diaz due to injury, in addition to the continued absence of both Ahmed Al-Janahi and striker Mohammed Muntari due to their lack of readiness, adding that his team needs stability in terms of performance and maintaining the upward trend in order to compete strongly for the title, in addition to preparing to participate in the continental AFC Champions League for the elite.
For his part, Croatian Igor Biscan, Al-Ahli’s technical director, expressed his great hope that his team would be fully focused on the field during the match, especially since its competitor, Al-Gharafa, is one of the best teams in terms of performance and players.
Al-Ahly coach explained that the competitor is a strong team, so we must focus on it in order to achieve the desired result.
Biskan added that he hopes Al-Ahly will continue its good performance. The team performed well against Al-Wakra, one of the strongest teams in the league, but did not achieve victory and ended in a draw.
He pointed out that the match will not be easy and all the league teams are strong and competitive on the field, but he trusts the abilities of his players and the work done by all the team players.
It is noteworthy that Al-Ahly tied in the opening round against Al-Wakrah with two goals each, and Al-Gharafa also tied with Al-Khor without goals.
