Al Rayyan Club announced today that it has signed a contract with Dutch international right-back Joshua Brent for one season.
The 30-year-old Brent played for Dutch club Twente Enschede during the past two seasons, and previously played for German club Hoffenheim and Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.
Al Rayyan strengthened its ranks during the summer transfers with several players, as it signed with the Egyptian Mahmoud Trezeguet, the Moroccan Achraf Bencharki, and the Brazilian goalkeeper Paulo Victor, in addition to the Spanish defender David Garcia and the Belgian Robin de Sart, to join the list of Brazilian professionals who have been in the team since last season, namely Roger Guedes, the midfielder Thiago Mendes, in addition to his compatriot, the winger Gabriel Pereira, and the Portuguese defender Andre Amaro.
Al Rayyan is preparing to participate in the AFC Champions League for the elite, for the 2024-2025 season, as it will begin its journey by facing Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia the day after tomorrow /Tuesday/, at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium.
Al Rayyan defeated Al Shahaniya 4-2 in the fourth round of the Qatar Football League (Ooredoo Stars League), moving the team up to fifth place in the standings with 6 points.
