Qatar National Bank (QNB) Group announced its intention to distribute interim “semi-annual” dividends to shareholders, becoming the first financial institution in the country to take this approach. QNB explained that the decision aims to strengthen the national economy in line with the basic principles of Qatar National Vision 2030 in its economic aspect, which is to develop a competitive and diversified economy capable of meeting the needs and ensuring a high standard of living at present and in the future.
The distribution of profits twice a year will also enhance investors’ confidence in the bank’s operational performance, and periodically inform them of the strength of its financial position and its ability to achieve profitable returns for shareholders.
QNB Group’s net profits rose by 7 percent in the first quarter of this year, reaching QAR 4.14 billion, compared to QAR 3.88 billion in the same period in 2023.
On the other hand, Fitch Ratings affirmed Qatar National Bank Group’s rating at “A+” with a stable outlook.
