Our national football team regained its 34th place globally in the new FIFA rankings issued yesterday. Al-Annabi took a step forward after being in 35th place in the last rankings issued on June 20. Al-Annabi ranked fifth in Asia after the teams of Japan, Iran, South Korea and Australia.
Our national team also came in second place in the Arab world after the Moroccan team, and FIFA announced that the next ranking will be issued on September 19.
The national team moved up one place from its last ranking at a time when many events await it, most notably the third stage of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup next September. The months of June and July witnessed the holding of many matches within the framework of three continental tournaments, in addition to a number of friendly matches, bringing the total number of matches played around the world to 125, which had a significant impact on the men’s world ranking.
In the context of these tournaments, the Argentine national team maintained its lead in the rankings thanks to its victory in the Copa America, while the French national team came in second place after being eliminated from the semi-finals of the European Nations Cup, while Spain, the European champion, managed to advance to third place, followed by the England national team in fourth place, while the Brazilian national team dropped to fifth place.
