A recent scientific study published in the European Journal of Sports Science has warned that sporty bras with excessive support may harm the back area, instead of providing desired protection, especially during running.

The study relied on an innovative model for the entire body for women, which the researchers used to analyze the effect of the various support levels provided by sports bras on the musculoskeletal system during running.

This model is the first of its kind, which allows the measurement of rotational forces that affect the spine accurately, and they are the forces that affect the muscles of the back and the torso during the dynamic body movement.

The results of the simulation showed that the bras that prevent the movement of the breast completely, that is, those with very high support, lead to a clear increase in the pressure on the spine, especially in the lower lumbar vertebra area.

This type of frequent pressure may lead, according to the study, to an increase in the risk of back pain, especially during intensive or frequent training sessions, as the requirements of physical voltage and the movement of the upper part increase.

In light of the results, the researchers recommended mathematical women to choose a mathematical bra between stability and flexibility, providing the necessary support for the breasts without restricting the natural movement of the body or carrying additional burdens.

They explained that the goal should be to reduce breast movements in a way that guarantees comfort and protection, but without excessive fixation, it violates the balance of movement and increases the burden on the back.
