Yesterday, the Qatar Society of Certified Public Accountants organized the Qatar Conference on Sustainable Development and Economic Diversification, with the participation of a number of local and international bodies and institutions, including the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the British Association of Accountants ACCA, and the Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSAS), to discuss the dimensions of sustainable development and economic diversification.

He added that the state’s systematic economic policies contributed to supporting all sectors of the state to become an active partner in strengthening and strengthening the national economy and enhancing investor confidence in it, which made the State of Qatar at the forefront of countries attracting investment. He said: “In order to preserve the environment, the State of Qatar is moving strongly towards environmentally friendly solutions.” “By diversifying energy sources, investing in solar energy, and expanding natural solutions, the State of Qatar has also invested heavily in information and communications technology to enhance sustainability and accelerate the implementation of the sustainable development goals.” For her part, Mrs. Asma Rasmouki, President of the International Federation of Accountants, said: “Over the past few months, the Board of Directors of the International Federation of Accountants and our advisory groups have worked to prepare a framework or set of procedures to help professional accounting organizations develop their local plans regarding sustainability.”
Rasmouki pointed out that the road map consists of 4 parts, the first of which is to embrace sustainability, which starts from within companies, and the appropriate point to start is at the state level, through professional accounting organizations, while the second part is to build expertise and participation through advocacy and intellectual leadership, The third part is focused on skills and competencies, and the fourth part focuses on cooperation and exchange of ideas.
