The Qatar International Cup and the Arab Weightlifting Championship for men and women will be held simultaneously, until December 31st, with the participation of 420 male and female lifters.

The organizing committee held a technical meeting this evening, attended by all the managers of the participating teams, during which the regulations for the competitions were reviewed, as well as the allocated training dates and weight dates for the participating male and female lifters.

During the meeting, the participating weights and the official competition schedule were determined over the course of days, as the official competitions will begin the day after tomorrow, Friday, with some weights being held simultaneously, whether in the Qatar International Cup or the Arab Championship.

The Qatar weightlifting team is participating with six male and female weightlifters in the competitions, the most prominent of whom is the trio Fares Ibrahim, Fares Jaber, and Salal Yakhlef, in addition to the presence of three rising young weightlifters, who are being qualified and given experience through such competitions.

Ibrahim Hassouna, coach of the Qatar weightlifting team, explained that the three weightlifters, Fares Ibrahim, Fares Jaber, and Wisal Yakhlef, will compete for gold during the competitions, pointing out that they are capable of showing high technical levels and achieving distinguished numbers.

He pointed out that weightlifter Fares Jaber was born in 2009, and will have a great future during the coming period, pointing out that he is being prepared to win a gold medal in the upcoming World Youth Championship, as well as competing to win gold in the Olympics.

The male and female weightlifters of the teams participating in the Qatar Cup Championship compete in 10 weights for men and the same for women. The weightlifters compete in the following weights: (61 kg, 73 kg, 89 kg, 102 kg, 55 kg, 67 kg, 81 kg, 96 kg, 109 kg). , +109 kg).
