The Lusail 3 x 3 Challenge International Championship will be launched today under the supervision of the International Basketball Federation, in cooperation with the Organizing Committee of the Basketball World Cup «Qatar 2027» and the Qatar Diar Company. Within the framework of the State of Qatar to host the World Cup 2027.
The championship competitions, which are part of the champion of the “Challenger” championships supervised by the International Basketball Federation and is considered an important global sporting event, in Al -Saad Square in the path of Lusail, which is one of the most prominent modern civilizational and cultural monuments in Qatar. The tournament includes 16 teams from different countries of the world, where the competitive system is divided into two phases:
The preliminary stage (qualifiers): 6 teams are participating in two groups, the first of each group qualifies to the group stage.
The main stage (group stage): includes 12 teams, with 10 directly qualified teams, in addition to the two qualifiers, and are distributed to four groups.
The 12 teams were distributed to four groups as follows:
The first group: Qatari Al -Wakra, Spanish Marbella, French Toulouse.
The second group: Al -Rayyan Al -Qatari, Serbian Partizan, Kandafa Latvi.
The third group: Serbian Partizan, Swiss Logano, and the team qualified from the first group in the qualifiers.
Fourth Group: New York Harlem, American, Carolina of Portoresto, and the team qualified for the second group in the qualifiers.
After the end of the group stage, 8 teams qualify to the quarter -finals, which will be held on the evening of the second day (Saturday 3 May), where he meets in the quarter -finals the first first group with the second third group, and the first fourth group with the second group, and then the two winners meet in the semi -finals
