The Qatari Businesswomen Association emphasizes the importance of cooperation to raise and empower women

Mrs. Aisha Hussein Al -Fardan, Vice -President of the Qatar Businesswomen Association, said that the association believes in the power of cooperation to raise and empower women, considering that the celebration of the International Women’s Day for this year reflects the joint commitment to create opportunities for women to achieve prosperity.

This came in her speech during the celebration held by the Qatar Women’s Association on the occasion of International Women’s Day and in cooperation with the Embassy of Canada and Australia, in which she indicated that the topic chosen by the United Nations to the celebration “for all women and girls: rights, equality, empowerment”, stresses the need to take fast and decisive steps to achieve gender equality, and to address the barriers and biases that women face globally, whether personally or personally Professionally.

For its part, His Excellency Ambassador Isabelle Martin, Canada’s Ambassador to Qatar, shed light on the relationship between International Women’s Day and Ramadan. She said: “It is pleasant coincidence that the International Women’s Day this year coincides with the blessed month of Ramadan, which allows us to collect inspiring women from Canadian, Qatari and Australian societies about a traditional suhoor table. She also pointed to the amazing story of Qatar in rapid modernization, as many distinguished women played a central role in the success of the country.

For his part, His Excellency Ambassador Shin Flaangan, Australia’s Ambassador to Qatar, spoke about the great contributions of women in Qatar, and said: “Women in Qatar have an impact in all fields – from work and digital innovation to education, science, government and sports. You have helped your contributions to the prosperity of Qatar, and turned this country into a modern and attractive place to live.” Ambassador Flaangan also acknowledged the humanitarian efforts of Qatar, especially in conflict areas where women and girls are greatly affected.

The event included a dialogue discussion with three influential women, Dr. Leoni Lithberridge, CEO and Director General of the Commercial Bank that was recently called one of the 100 most powerful businesswomen in 2025 by Forbes Magazine, Dr. Suraira Siddiqui, Executive Director of Al -Majadla Foundation and a professor at Georgetown University and Mrs. Mashael Al -Sulaiti, founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mashael Al -Sulaiti Law In the Qatari businesswomen association.
