Heard experts in Britain have warned of the habit of cleaning the ear with a cotton stick, as the tool can harm the ear drum and lead to tinnitus.
Specialists say that the ear trap often ends with pushing the wax to the ear canal, where it presses the eardrum and clogs the auditory canal, which leads to the occurrence of ringing, pulse, tinnitus, or a sound of impulsion.
The tinnitus affects millions globally, in which the patient hears unusual sounds frequently, often 24 hours a day.
According to British tin specialist Frank McGareth – in an interview with the Daily Mail – many suffer from exhausted tinnitus, making them unable to work and sleep.
The tinnitus can be so severe that it may lead to depression, addiction and even suicide.
McGareth increases awareness of the common ways that a person can unintentionally cause to destroy his hearing.
It is believed that pressure from planes and water during water sports increases the risk of destroying the eardrum to its explosion, which leads to tinnitus. Frank advises passengers to try to stimulate yawning and swallowing to “open” their ears when they feel clogged during the trip.
Sustable music at concerts is another reason, as Frank urges music lovers to stay away from loudspeakers while enjoying their favorite band.
Even when not attending concerts, it is advised not to use headphones to flood the noise of the environment, as music above the recommended sound level can harm the eardrum.
“Cotton sticks are dangerous, they are not designed for a person to be consciously in his ear when he cannot see where you go … some wax may come out but you pay more to your ear drum,” McGareth said.
