The Ministry of Trade and Industry revealed that the new decision is to compel car agents to disclose the value of new cars, spare parts prices, and periodic maintenance phases in marketing advertisements directed to consumers before selling cars, protects consumers and contributes to controlling the market from the expensive prices for some of the types that car agencies sell
The ministry confirmed through one of its officials on the X platform that the purpose of the circular is to achieve transparency between consumers and car agencies, and to ensure that companies adhere to the Consumer Protection Law, where interactive display screens will be provided in all agencies in addition to providing electronic links on agencies sites in which new car prices, spare parts and periodic maintenance prices will be provided.
Provide full information
The ministry confirmed that it seeks to enhance the experience of consumers and enhance confidence between the consumer and car agencies to prevent consumer misconsuralism and provide full information about the commodity or service it receives in a way that guarantees the consumer to know the basic costs associated with purchase and maintenance before making the purchase decision.
The Ministry stressed that the establishments that do not adhere to the requirements of this circular will be subject to legal accountability and criminal procedures in accordance with Law No. (8) of 2008.
On the other hand, economists and consumers emphasized that the decision of the Ministry of Trade and Industry achieves full protection for the consumer and faces the large unexpected rise in car prices and services, whether spare parts or maintenance prices that the market is witnessing compared to the prices of neighboring countries. Which prevents consumers from repairing cars in these agencies and resorting to garages and workshops, which contributes to the loss of the consumer right to obtain service and commodity at reasonable prices from agencies.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Trade and Industry issued Circular No. (1) of 2025, which obliges car dealerships to disclose transparency in marketing advertisements directed to consumers before selling new cars, for the value of the car, spare parts prices, and periodic maintenance wages.
The ministry said .. This circular comes within the framework of the ministry’s keenness to support transparency and improve the consumer experience and enhance mutual trust between consumers and car agents, based on the provisions of Law No. (8) of 2008 regarding consumer protection and amendments, especially articles (M/7-3), (M/8-1) and (M/16) of the law for consumer rights, where (M/7) stipulates that: “… Or announce it or present it in a manner that contains false or deceptive data.
Take several corrective measures
The Ministry stressed that the circular stipulates the necessity of car dealershiprs to take several corrective measures, most notably:
– Clearly display and specifications of new car in display halls.
– Announcing spare parts prices, such as the engine and the transmission, in places of display inside the showrooms or maintenance centers.

The circular also requires agents to provide a large interactive screen of no less than 42 inches inside the showrooms and maintenance centers, to enable the consumer to enter the name of the maintenance service or the required spare parts and see its details and price easily and transparently.
The Ministry confirmed that the provision of these data electronically or through the digital platforms of the agent, guarantees the consumer to know the basic costs associated with purchase and maintenance before making the purchase decision.
The Ministry also stressed that facilities that do not adhere to the requirements of this circular will be subject to legal accountability and criminal procedures in accordance with Law No. (8) of 2008.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry called on all consumers to report any violations or violations through the Communication Center (16001), or through the Ministry’s accounts on social media platforms: @MoCikatar – X platform – Instagram MoCiqatar
The decisions of the Ministry of Trade and Industry come to complement the circulation of the seizure of car markets, as it issued a circular before allowing individuals to import their cars directly from abroad and obliges the agents to ensure them.
The Ministry stressed the provision of guarantee, spare parts and maintenance for imported vehicles without unjustified delay. She also stressed the need to adhere to the conditions of this circular to avoid controlling violations and taking legal measures against them.
