The Ministry of Health in Uganda confirmed today, Thursday, the outbreak of the Ebola virus in the capital, Kampala, and recorded the first deaths on Wednesday.
The patient, a nurse at the Mouliajo Hospital in the capital, tried at first to receive treatment in various facilities, including Mulajo after the appearance of a fever -like symptoms.
The ministry said, “The patient suffered from the failure of the jobs of several members and was able to get ill at the Mawaju National Hospital on January 29. The post -death samples confirmed that he had the Sudan dynasty from the Ebola virus,” the ministry said.
The highly infected hemorrhagic fever is transmitted by touching infected fluids and tissues. Symptoms include headache, blood vomiting, muscle pain and bleeding.
The last outbreak of the disease in Uganda in 2022 and announced his elimination on January 11, 2023 after nearly 4 months, during which it struggled to contain viral infection.
This brokerage claimed the lives of 55 out of 143 injured, and among the deaths were 6 workers in the health sector.
