The Standing Committee on Vaccination in Germany stressed the importance of receiving vaccination against herpes zoster for the elderly and people who suffer from a weak immune system, some autoimmune diseases, or severe chronic diseases such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Or diabetes or chronic kidney disease.

The committee explained that herpes zoster, also known as “shingles,” is a viral disease whose symptoms are the appearance of a painful skin rash with blisters in a specific area.

The rash usually occurs in the form of a single wide band or band on either the left or right side of the body or face, and tingling or local pain may occur in the affected area.

Herpes zoster occurs due to the activation of the varicella zoster virus in the human body, and initial infection with this virus leads to the occurrence of chickenpox.

After recovery from chickenpox, the virus remains dormant in the neurons, and then, upon activation, it is transmitted from the body of the nerve to the nerve endings on the skin, leading to the occurrence of pimples. There are a number of risk factors for reactivating the virus, including advanced age and a weak immune system.
