Constipation

Constipation often occurs when there are changes in diet, lack of exercise, after quitting smoking, or during pregnancy.
Abdominal pain after defecation may be due to irritable bowel syndrome, which occurs due to anxiety, psychological tension, or eating certain foods or medications. In addition to abdominal pain, the patient also suffers from abdominal bloating, constipation, and diarrhea.
Inflammatory bowel diseases
Abdominal pain after defecation may be due to serious causes such as inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Crohn’s disease affects the lower small intestine, the large intestine, or both sections of the intestine.
In addition to severe abdominal pain, patients also complain of diarrhea, nausea and flatulence.
When ulcerative colitis occurs, the large intestine is chronically inflamed. The main symptoms include severe abdominal pain when defecating, the appearance of mucus, and sometimes bloody diarrhea.
Endometriosis
Abdominal pain after defecation in women may indicate endometriosis, a disease in which tissue settles outside the uterus, for example in the intestine or peritoneum. In addition to abdominal pain, women also suffer from nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Serious causes also include enlarged hemorrhoids or an inguinal hernia, which is a hole in the abdominal wall through which part of the intestine, fatty tissue, or another organ is forced from the abdominal cavity into the inguinal canal.
Malignant tumors
In the worst case, abdominal pain after defecation may indicate malignant tumors in the digestive system, such as colon cancer or anal cancer.
