The urologist’s visit is necessary periodically for a man, and this visit should be made periodically to discover any serious diseases such as prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
The German professor Dr. Axel Mercyberger recommended men to visit the urologist in case of observing these symptoms:
- Repeated or painful urination
- Erectile dysfunction
- Unjustified pain in the lower abdomen
- External changes such as signs of inflammation in the genital area or testes hardening
- Testicle
A spokesman for the German Urology Association said that these symptoms are due to several causes such as urinary tract infections, kidney stones and prostate enlargement, and it may also foreshadow in the worst cases of prostate cancer or testicular cancer.
Prostate cancer
For his part, German urologist Robert Frezea recommended the men to visit the urologist starting from the age of 45 years, to conduct early tests for prostate cancer, which is the most common type of cancer in men.
Friza explained that, in addition to examining and baking penis and the scrotum, the prostate examination also includes prostate body from the anus and evaluating the lymph nodes, indicating that the so -called qualitative prostate antigen (PSA), which is an important standard for early detection of prostate cancer, can also be made.
Fariza pointed out that it is a mistake to completely dispense with a bit of palpation, as it can provide basic information about the size and shape of the prostate, in addition to any possible concrete deformities associated with colon cancer.
Testicular cancer
Professor Mercyberger explained that testicular cancer is one of the rarest types of cancer, noting that it is primarily the men between the ages of 20 and 40.
Mercyberger added that the following factors raise the risk of testicular cancer:
- Family history, for example if the father or brother was diagnosed in the past
- Men who have one testicle or both in the abdomen, are more at risk, even after surgical treatment
Men can take the necessary measures to early detection of the testicle tumors themselves, as a self -examination should be performed once a month, and it is preferable to do this after bathing with warm water, as the scrotum skin is loose then.
The best way to do this is to stand in front of the mirror and verify first of any swelling or leather changes, then start it. One testicle should be examined each time between the thumb and the index finger from both hands, gently rolling the testicle, but precisely to check its surface. And if it is soft and you do not feel any hardening, this is a good sign.
Self -examination also includes the examination of what is known as “epididy”, which is a soft and curved part that falls above the testicle and its successor.
When noticing any deformities such as thickness or sclerosis during palpation, they should be examined immediately with a urologist, and even small blocks the size of a pea must be taken seriously.
This also applies if the testicle is enlarged or swollen on one side, as well as when feeling tightened or heavy in it. You should also consult a doctor if the testicle is solid or unnaturally soft.
