The Ministry of Transportation has confirmed facilitating the service of issuing initial approvals to issue licenses to practice land transportation activities using modern technology and intelligent transportation systems. She explained that the land transport service using electronic applications allows the process of obtaining a commercial license for individuals, companies, private sectors and government institutions. This service targets those interested in investing and working in the land transportation sector through its various activities related to issuing smart applications for delivery companies.
The Ministry of Transportation provides services:
– Granting initial approvals to issue commercial licenses to those with commercial records for the first time and those wishing to invest and work in the land transportation sector.
– Obtaining initial approvals for those wishing to continue working in the land transport sector to obtain commercial licenses.
– Obtaining initial approvals for those wishing to amend the data in their commercial registry.
The Comprehensive Transport Plan for the State of Qatar 2050 constitutes a roadmap for investment in land transport infrastructure, and defines future frameworks and directions for developing transport networks at the national level, ensuring their integration with land use, urban development, population growth and meeting the demand for transport systems in the future.
The Ministry of Transportation explained that the plan also works to achieve financial sustainability for the land transport sector by covering the largest possible amount of operating costs by implementing transportation demand management policies, and encouraging partnership between the public and private sectors to invest and contribute to building and operating transportation systems.
The Ministry confirmed that the comprehensive plan for transport in the State of Qatar 2050 will bring significant economic returns as a result of increased revenues and the benefits of saving the cost of operating vehicles, saving energy and fuel consumption, saving travel time, and reducing carbon emissions and traffic accidents.
The implementation of this plan also strengthens the position of the State of Qatar as one of the most sustainable countries in the world by providing innovative and sustainable transportation solutions that support all aspects of development pursued by the state, which contributes to improving the quality of life of citizens and everyone residing on the land of Qatar, while preserving the national identity of the state.
The plan includes an integrated set of initiatives and projects to serve all users of land transportation systems and networks until the year 2050 AD, including highways, public transportation, pedestrians, bicycles, demand management for land transportation, and other transportation techniques and technology, with the aim of achieving integration among these elements and improving connectivity between them, enhancing the level of road safety, reducing traffic congestion, and preserving the environment, to be a true legacy for future generations, thus achieving the goals of the Qatar National Vision “2030.”
