The Ministry of Sports and Youth organized the second edition of the “You Drive It 2” program, with the participation of about 80 young people from the age group from 14 to 18 years, over two days, as part of the programs and activities aimed at developing young people’s skills, refining their personal and leadership abilities, and promoting the values of teamwork, self-reliance, and assuming responsibility.
The program, which concluded today in cooperation with the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association and the Saif Al Ghariya Youth Center, focused on the concept of “learning by doing,” as participants underwent a set of tasks and challenges that require cooperation, planning, and decision-making, in addition to water games, challenge events, group competitions, and scouting programs and skills, which contributes to developing their abilities and enhancing their team spirit and initiative.
In this context, Mr. Fawaz Al-Musayfri, Director of the Department of Youth Centers and Organizations at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, confirmed that the “You Drive It 2” program is an integrated youth experience that combines challenge, learning and entertainment, through a variety of activities and practical experiences designed to suit the interests of the target age group, and gives participants the opportunity to discover their abilities and develop their skills in an interactive and stimulating youth environment.
He stated that the program came within the framework of the Ministry’s orientation to support qualitative youth programs that depend on participation and practical experience and contribute to building the personality of young people and refining their skills, noting the importance of continuing to develop the programs provided in a way that keeps pace with the aspirations and interests of young people, and achieves a positive and sustainable impact.
For his part, Mr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Deputy Director of the Saif Al-Ghariya Youth Center, confirmed that organizing the second edition of the “You Drive It 2” program comes within the framework of the Center’s keenness to develop its programs and build effective partnerships with various national agencies and institutions, which contributes to providing diverse youth experiences that combine fun and benefit, and give participants a space to discover their abilities and develop their skills.
In turn, Mr. Ghanem Al Kuwari, Commissioner General of the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association, stressed that the cooperation in implementing the “You Lead It 2” program reflects the importance of partnership and integration between youth and scouting institutions in providing programs that contribute to building the personality of young people and developing their capabilities, noting that the scouting movement is based, in its essence, on learning by doing, developing the spirit of initiative, discipline, self-reliance, and team work.
The “You Drive It 2” program represents an extension of the previous version, with the development of its content and the addition of a group of new experiences, challenges, and scouting programs, providing participants with a more diverse and interactive experience, combining adventure, challenge, learning, teamwork, and self-reliance.
