Mwani Qatar reviews preparations for the launch of the 2024-2025 tourism season

Mwani Qatar held a preparatory meeting for cruise ship agents and tourist destination management companies in the country, to review plans for the new tourist season, as part of preparations for the launch of the 2024-2025 tourist season at the Old Doha Port.
During the meeting, operational arrangements, security and safety requirements were discussed, and opinions and proposals were exchanged to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for visitors to Qatar, in cooperation with stakeholders.
The “Terminal” cruise ship terminal in the old Doha Port provides visitors arriving on cruise ships with seamless access to the most famous tourist attractions in Doha, where they can visit the Corniche area, the Museum of Islamic Art, the Qatar National Museum, Msheireb Downtown Doha, and Souq Waqif. Cruise visitors are welcomed with many attractive tourist offers, including desert safaris, museum visits, shopping operations and other tourist activities.
The Old Doha Port witnessed the most successful cruise season 2023-2024, since its launch, as it achieved a noticeable increase by receiving 73 cruise ships and more than 378,000 visitors, with a growth of 38% compared to the previous season 2022-2023. It also witnessed an 83% increase in the number of transfer passengers. Partial.
These numbers reflect a remarkable growth in the number of cruise ships, as the season witnessed a 33% increase in the total number of ships. The total number of passengers on the partial shift this season reached 68,050 passengers, reflecting the increasing demand for cruise tourism.
The old port of Doha embraces the ancient maritime heritage of the State of Qatar, and includes more than 50 cafes and 100 shops, in addition to a series of hotel rooms and apartments. Since its opening, it has succeeded in being a tourist destination that attracts families, children and visitors coming to the country, due to its organizing various events throughout the year. Which strengthened its position as a vibrant entertainment location.
The port provides all the needs of tourists, including hotels, hotel apartments, hundreds of shops, cafes, restaurants, and recreational services represented by a promenade, an 8-km-long bicycle path, a garden, and a fish market, in addition to its location close to tourist attraction facilities, especially the Museum of Islamic Art, Souq Waqif, the Qatar National Museum, and the Corniche. Doha, it is considered one of the tourist facilities that attracts a large number of citizens, residents and tourists, especially during the weekend.
