QIIB received the Banking Excellence and Achievement Award in Islamic corporate banking services in Qatar during the 2024 Banking Excellence and Achievement Awards ceremony organized annually by the International Union of Arab Bankers. Mr. Omar Abdel Aziz Al-Meer, Head of the Corporate Sector at QIIB, received the award representing the bank during the ceremony held this year in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, with official participation and the presence of a large elite of representatives of the banking sector and the Arab and international business sector.
The International Union of Arab Bankers indicated that it was based in granting this award to QIIB on a set of data, the most important of which is: that the bank has achieved great achievements during the last period in the field of developing the services and products of the bank’s corporate clients and provided services provided for the first time in the Qatari banking sector, which contributed greatly It is evident in strengthening the bank’s position and contributing to enhancing innovation in Islamic banking services and products locally and internationally.
Commenting on QIIB’s win of the award, Mr. Al-Meer said: “We are very pleased that the bank has been chosen for this award, which confirms the progress achieved by QIIB in one of the main sectors, which is the corporate sector, with all that this represents in implementing the strategy approved by the bank’s Board of Directors and implemented by the management.” Executive in a way that takes advantage of all the elements of strength available in the banking market.”

The head of the corporate sector mentioned: “A short while ago, QIIB received the Excellence Award in Corporate Payment Solutions from the international company Visa for the year 2024, on the back of its leadership in corporate payment solutions, and being the first bank in Qatar to launch a debit card for medium and small companies, which provides… Advanced and convenient payment solutions with unique features that provide added value to customers. QIIB also launched its digital platform for issuing documentary credits by customers themselves without the need to visit the bank, as the first bank in Qatar to launch this service.”
Al-Meer pointed out that the bank is reaping the results of its long-term strategy in various fields, including the corporate sector, where it invested in innovation and technological infrastructure, cooperated with the best expertise and applied the best standards approved in the global banking sector, and this played a prominent role in the prestigious position that the bank has reached.
Al Meer thanked the International Union of Arab Bankers for granting the Excellence Award in Corporate Banking Services to QIIB and for the objective criteria set by the Union in the context of its appreciation of the award’s deservingness, stressing that the bank will continue to work to maintain its leadership and improve its various indicators.
