2.3 million people have lived in the Gaza Strip without the slightest ingredients for life for nearly 19 months, in light of the tightening of the Israeli occupation army and the prevention of the entry of humanitarian aid and food.

In light of this tragic scene, the island monitored the effect of food shortages on the human body, and what it means to lose the lowest elements of life, amid government warnings that the sector approaches the brink of famine.

Medical sources estimated to the island that the overall consumes of the invading individual currently between 400 and 500 calories a day, equivalent to a small box of beans, which means that the residents of the sector are flying on the crumbs.

The term ingredients of life refers to calories or energy that keeps the body alive and gives the person the ability to breathe, pump blood and regulate the body heat.

According to the World Health Organization, the person (40-50 years) needs at a minimum between 1,800 and 2200 kilograms per day only to survive without movement.

Calories are not sufficient, according to global health, as they must come from various sources to ensure food balance by 50-60% of carbohydrates, 20-30% of fat and 10-15% of proteins.

As for the repercussions of calorie deficiency, the effects of decreasing the body receiving reasonable amounts of nutrients and water begin to appear in adults in the first ten days, as the person loses the weight of water and the galicogen stores responsible for storing energy and muscle construction.

Accordingly, signs of fatigue and physical and mental performance will appear, with sharp changes in mood and high level of anxiety.

And between the 20th and 30th day, the body begins to break the muscle tissue to obtain energy, which leads to a decrease in strength, movement, weak immune system, and the high possibility of infection.

Adults at this stage suffer from cardiovascular stress, and cognitive ability decreases from a lack of memory and a disorder in the ability to make decisions.

And when a threshold of 30 days exceeds the severe shortage of nutritional amounts of water and food, adults enter the acute malnutrition stage, as the failure of vital organs, including the heart, liver and kidneys, begins, and the feelings of depression and indifference are aggravated, and without urgent medical intervention, the risk of death rises.

In the same context, children between 1000 and 2200 calories per day need 1,800 and 3200 calories per day for adolescents in order to achieve the integrity of their physical and mental development.

Accordingly, the consequences of calorie lack of calories have more dangerous for fear of an acute immunity deficiency and a growth imbalance, in addition to the fear of the prevalence of stature with a lack of proteins.

Parallel to the lack of food, clean water began to run after the occupation forces destroyed drinking water lines, and the residents of the sector are currently dependent on the remaining wells that human rights institutions warn of their pollution with wastewater and war ammunitions.

Two days ago, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warned that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is the “worst as the worst” since the Israeli aggression began on the Gaza Strip, and to prevent the entry of humanitarian aid to the Strip.

The UN office indicated that the passage of about a month and a half without allowing any supplies to enter through the crossings represents the longest stoppage period for supply so far.

On the second of last March, the Israeli occupation prevented the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and closed all the crossings leading to the Strip, as it resumed the extermination of the Palestinian people on the 18th of the same month after a two -month truce.
