A study conducted by scientists from Japan’s Kagoshima University revealed that daily consumption of green tea helps prevent fatty liver disease.
The study, the results of which were published in the journal Food & Function, indicated that constant consumption of green tea reduces the accumulation of fat in the liver, improves fat metabolism in the body, and restores the balance of intestinal microbes.
She added that regular consumption of green tea reduces levels of fats and enzymes associated with liver damage, enhances the removal of triglycerides from the body, and also suppresses the synthesis of fats in liver cells and stimulates the enzymes responsible for their decomposition, thanks to the main active ingredient epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) available in green tea.
Scientists have confirmed that drinking one cup daily of green tea prepared in the traditional way may be a simple and safe way to prevent non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and the metabolic disorders associated with it.
It is noteworthy that scientists from the Chinese University of Sichuan recently announced the development of edible micrograins made from green tea and seaweed, indicating that these supplements help burn fat and improve bowel function.
