The Ministry of Labor honored Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) for its efforts in localizing jobs and enhancing community development during a ceremony honoring a distinguished elite of personalities, institutions, administrative competencies and leading companies in the fields of labor, social development and social work in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, on the sidelines of the ministerial meetings of civil service, labor and social development affairs in the GCC countries.
During the honoring ceremony, His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, Minister of Labor, presented an appreciation shield to Mr. Basil Jamal, Group CEO of the Bank.
The award came in recognition of the bank’s commitment to enhancing the Qatarization process to attract more qualified national talents to work in the bank’s various sectors by providing them with the tools and support to help them enhance their capabilities and build their career paths. This honor comes within the framework of the Ministry of Labor’s keenness to highlight the best performing companies and entities in localizing jobs in the private sector.
The Bank has made significant efforts in Qatarization by providing real opportunities for career development for Qatari candidates, enabling them to realize their full potential. The Bank also continuously participates in the initiatives of the Ministry of Labor’s Nationalization Program (Kawader) to support and develop Qatari talent as a key component of Qatar National Vision 2030.

Since its establishment in 1982, the Bank has been keen to place the employment of Qataris at the top of its human resources priorities. Over the past four decades, it has been able to attract national cadres according to an integrated vision based on employment, qualification and training, to enable citizens to assume leadership positions in various sectors of the Bank.
