Today, Qatar Airways begins implementing its plan to enhance its operational operations on the African continent, by resuming a number of flights and increasing operational capacity to a group of major destinations, as part of its strategy to expand its global network of destinations and enhance air connectivity across the continent.
The national carrier is scheduled to resume, starting today, Tuesday, June 16, operating four flights per week to Seychelles and two flights per week to the Rwandan capital, Kigali, while it will begin operating a daily flight to the Moroccan city of Marrakesh, starting next July 1.
Qatar Airways also announced the launch of three flights weekly to the city of Port Sudan, starting July 2, 2026, enhancing travel options and air connectivity between Qatar and Sudan.
The expansions also include increasing the number of flights to a number of African destinations, as Alexandria flights in the Arab Republic of Egypt will increase from 3 to 7 flights per week, Cairo from 28 to 35 flights per week, Cape Town from 7 to 10 flights per week, and Dar es Salaam from 3 to 7 flights per week.
Lusaka-Harare flights will also increase from 5 to 7 flights per week, and Maputo-Durban flights from 4 to 7 flights per week.
This step confirms Qatar Airways’ commitment to strengthening its network of destinations in Africa and meeting the growing demand for travel.
