The American Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX) launched 24 new Starlink satellites into space.
The Foundation said in a statement today that the Falcon 9 missile was launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force Base in the US state of Florida, noting that the missile carried the satellites into low Earth orbit about 65 minutes after its take-off.
The first part of the rocket successfully returned to Earth about eight minutes after its launch, landing vertically on a SpaceX plane stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
Starlink is considered the largest constellation of satellites ever assembled, with the number of active spacecraft currently reaching approximately 6,850.
