The General Tax Authority announced today the extension of the period of submitting the tax declaration for a period of four months for the tax year ending December 31, 2024, to become the last date to submit the declaration on August 31, 2025 instead of April 30, 2025, taking into account the different accounting periods approved by the authority, to give the taxpayers additional time to complete their procedures and comply with their tax obligations.

This comes in conjunction with the initiative to exempt financial fines by 100 percent launched recently.

The authority stated in a statement that this extension applies to all entities and persons subject to the provisions of the Income Tax Law issued by Law No. (24) of 2018 and its amendments, including tax -exempt companies, entities owned by Qataris or citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council states, in addition to companies that include non -Qatari partners.

This decision is excluded by companies operating in the petroleum operations and petrochemical industries sector, which must submit their tax decisions no later than April 30, 2025.

The statement pointed out that the decision to extend the period of submission of tax declarations comes in line with the initiative of exemption from financial penalties by 100 percent, which provides the taxpayers better opportunities to benefit from the advantages of the initiative and extension together in promoting their tax compliance in accordance with the controls and provisions specified for that.

On the other hand, the extension of taxpayers allows more time to prepare their declarations perfectly, review their data accurately, and take advantage of the services and instructions provided by the authority in this regard.

The General Tax Authority called on all taxpayers to submit their tax decisions electronically through the “tax” platform, confirming its commitment to providing the necessary support to ensure tax compliance and facilitate procedures for the taxpayers.

The taxpayers can also obtain answers to their inquiries or seek help by communicating with the call center (16565) or via e -mail.
