The Qatari team has qualified for the final of the International Men’s Tennis Championship, currently being held in the city of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates, with the participation of eight countries: Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Iraq, Iran and Syria.
The Qatari national team is represented in the tournament by players Musa Shanan, Mubarak Shanan and Ghanem Al-Sulaiti, under the supervision of coach Mounir Al-Araj.
The Qatari team’s qualification came after a series of distinguished results in the group stage, where it defeated the Bahraini team with a score of 2-1, and beat the Emirati team with the same score, before losing to the Jordanian team with a score of 0-3, to occupy second place in its group and qualify for the semi-finals.
In the semi-finals, the Qatari team continued its strong performances and succeeded in overcoming the Iranian team with a score of 2-1, to reserve its place in the final against the Jordanian team.
Mr. Khaled Al-Khulaifi, Chairman of the National Teams Committee of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel and Badminton Federation, expressed in a statement on this occasion his pride in what the Qatari national team players presented during the course of the tournament. He also praised the distinguished level they showed and the high fighting spirit that reflected an honorable image of Qatari tennis.
Al-Khulaifi expressed his aspiration for the national team to continue its strong performance in the final match and to raise Qatar’s name high in this victory.
