Threads, a social media platform affiliated with Instagram, announced the launch of a new update to its desktop interface, allowing users to customize the way content is displayed by pinning several columns together on the screen.
Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram and supervisor of Threads, said: “We have begun rolling out the new Threads.net interface to desktop globally, so you can customize and edit what you see.”
He continued: “We have a lot of great ideas to make this the best website for sharing ideas, so stay tuned for more, and let us know if you have any suggestions.”
Users can now click the pin icon in the lower left corner of the new Threads desktop interface to add more columns to the screen, and add items such as “Most Popular, Following, Likes, History, Search, Profile and more.”
You can also get a common user interface to see content recommended by Instagram and saved posts for access later, and each column contains a list with some options such as unpinning the column, and stopping automatic updating of content.
The new interface could be useful for users who want to organize the content they see in Threads, and keep track of multiple things at the same time.
