Hamad International Airport announced that three new international airlines have resumed their flights to Doha, namely IndiGo as of the beginning of this May, Pegasus Airlines on May 12, and Flynas on May 19, bringing the total number of companies that have resumed operations to the airport to 23 international companies.
The airport indicated, in an operational update on its official website, that flight operations continue to expand with more international airlines resuming their flights to and from Doha, stressing continued coordination with the competent authorities and airlines, with the possibility of amending or canceling some schedules as a result of operational circumstances beyond our control.
According to operational data, a number of airlines resumed their flights during the month of April, including Flydubai on April 21, Air Arabia on April 22, and Oman Air on April 23, in addition to other companies such as Tarco Air, UPS, Royal Jordanian, Yemenia Airlines, Middle East Airlines, and Nepal Airlines.
The appeal list also included other companies later, including Badr Airlines and Syrian Air on April 27, and EgyptAir and Himalaya Airlines on April 28.
In May, additional carriers joined the rollout, including Air India, Air India Express and Gulf Air, along with Ethiopian Airlines on May 4, SriLankan Airlines on May 11, and Kam Air on May 16, with Royal Air Maroc set to resume operations on July 1.
This gradual expansion in the resumption of flights reflects the recovery of air traffic and the strengthening of air connectivity of the State of Qatar with various regional and international destinations, supporting travel and trade.
