The final rounds of the His Highness the Emir Bowling Cup Championship, organized by the Qatar Bowling Federation, begin today at the Al-Ittihad Hall and conclude tomorrow. 40 players will participate in the final rounds, which begin with the round of 40, which includes the best 32 players from the overall standings of the preliminary round, the two best players from the first two-day competitions, the two best Qatari youth players, and the two best players from the players registered with the Qatari Federation, in addition to the two best players from the Desperado round.
Then the players from ninth to fortieth compete in 8 rounds within one day, of which the best 16 players qualify for the second round.
The final match will witness a one-round confrontation between the first-place finisher from the second round and the winner of the fourth round, after which the winner will be crowned champion.
As for the International Youth Championship for the category of 21 years and under, it will witness the qualification of the best 3 young players from the preliminary round to the final stage. In the semi-finals, the third-place winner will compete with the second-place winner in one round, with the winner qualifying for the final match to meet the first-place finisher in a final round to determine the champion.
In the most prominent results of the day, the Swedish Pontus Andersson topped the first attempt with 806 points, while in the second attempt, the Finnish Thomas Kaihko came in first place with 705 points.

Abdullah Haroun Al-Jusaiman, Chairman of the Federation’s Competitions Committee, confirmed that the competition had reached the final and decisive stages amid seriousness and great enthusiasm, expressing his happiness with the strong competition for the tournament, which is considered one of the largest tournaments.
He said, “With reaching the final stage, the excellence of the players begins, especially since the most prominent stars of the game in Asia and the world champions are keen to participate in the tournament, as it is very important in the Asian and global calendar, and therefore the technical level remained very high and the competition strong, and a greater opportunity was given to the players of the Qatar national team in this youth edition with the increase in the number of participants to gain the greatest possible benefit by interacting with the international stars of the game.”
