Al-Arab learned that the intention within the Football Association is to hold the Qatar Cup championship competitions during next August, after the end of the summer vacation and the return of the clubs to prepare for the new season.
According to the preliminary arrangements, the semi-final matches will be held on August 7, where Al Rayyan will meet Al Shamal, while the second match will bring together Al Sadd and Al Gharafa, with the two winners meeting in the final match on the 15th of the same month.
The tournament is expected to witness great excitement in light of the similar levels of the four teams, especially after the strong season presented by the clubs in the Doha Bank Stars League and the Emir Cup, where Al Sadd enters as the league champion, while Al Gharafa seeks to continue its brilliance after being crowned with the Emir Cup, while Al Rayyan and Al Shamal aspire to compete strongly for the first titles of the new season.
Holding the tournament in August also comes as part of the plan to prepare the clubs before the start of the Doha Bank Stars League competitions.
