Qatari Diar and the Olympic Committee enhance cooperation in sports and community initiatives

Qatari Diar signed a cooperation agreement with the Qatar Olympic Committee, with the aim of expanding areas of partnership in sports and community initiatives, supporting sports participation, and encouraging community members to adopt healthy and active lifestyles.

The agreement includes cooperation in organizing and implementing sporting and community events, tournaments and initiatives of common interest, in addition to developing programs aimed at enhancing community participation in sporting activities and establishing a culture of healthy living.

The agreement also allows the Qatar Olympic Committee to benefit from a number of spaces and facilities belonging to Qatari Diar, in addition to providing the necessary logistical support to implement joint events and programmes.

The two parties will also cooperate in exchanging experiences and knowledge and providing technical support and consultations related to sports initiatives, as well as coordinating media, marketing and promotional efforts for joint events and projects at the local and international levels, and benefiting from the media and advertising assets available at Qatari Diar, including screens and media spaces.

The agreement was signed by Sheikh Hamad bin Talal Al Thani, CEO of Qatari Diar, and His Excellency Mr. Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee.

In this context, the CEO of Qatari Diar stressed that signing the agreement reflects Qatari Diar’s keenness to enhance its role in supporting sports and community initiatives, pointing out the importance of the partnership with the Qatar Olympic Committee in expanding the scope of institutional cooperation and transforming areas of joint work into initiatives with a tangible impact on society.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Qatar Olympic Committee confirmed that the agreement represents a new step in the process of strengthening partnerships between the Qatar Olympic Committee and national institutions, in a way that supports the integration of efforts and the exchange of experiences and contributes to developing the sports sector and expanding the scope of sports and community initiatives and programmes.

He added that the committee looks forward to benefiting from the capabilities and expertise possessed by both parties, in a way that enhances sustainable cooperation, supports the presence of sports and its positive role in society, and contributes to consolidating the position of the State of Qatar on the sports arena.
