The Qatari junior handball team qualified for the final of the Asian Under-19 Championship currently being held in Jordan, after its victory today over South Korea with a score of (32-28) in the semi-finals.
The Qatari team will meet in the final match, which will be held the day after tomorrow, Monday, with the winner of the match between Bahrain and Iran in the second semi-final, which will be held later today.
The Qatari team succeeded in continuing its journey in the tournament without losing, as it achieved the full score in the second group matches of the tournament with 8 points, by defeating the teams of Saudi Arabia (30-22), Kuwait (30-19), Iran (24-22), and Syria (42-29).
In the quarter-finals, it defeated the Jordanian team, the host of the tournament, with a score of (33-13), before surpassing the Korean team and advancing to the final.
The Qatari national team also succeeded in obtaining the qualification card for the 2027 World Junior Handball Championship for the seventh time in its history.
