Adults with acne are increasing

A recent study revealed that adults with an acne problem in the face increases with the risk of nutritional disorders.

A research team from the University of Yale University, American University, confirmed that acne infection increases the feeling of anxiety about the general appearance of the person, which leads to harmful ideas and behaviors related to obesity and food restrictions.

In the context of the study, published by the Journal of the Eurobean Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, the researchers analyzed data for 7,400 people suffering from a 18 -year -old acne problem or more, with their comparison with more than 207 thousand people who do not suffer from the same problem.

The results show that acne patients have increased the risk of nutritional disorders by 2.4 compared to others. Even after taking into account the history of volunteers regarding depression, anxiety and psychological problems related to the general appearance, the acne problem is related to increasing the possibilities of food disorders by 65%.

The head of the study team stated that “these results will help doctors who treat acne patients to be more suspicious of the risk of nutritional disorders, in order to provide comprehensive care for patients.”

He added in statements to the website “Health Day”, a specialist in medical research, that while the study focused on people aged 18 years or more, the problem of acne and food disorders “greatly affects” adolescents.

He pointed to the necessity of conducting other studies in the future that address the impact of this problem on different age groups.
