During a visit to the Qatar Polymer Factory in the Industrial Zone and the inauguration of its second phase, a delegation of business owners from the Republic of Mozambique reviewed the progress of production operations in the factory and discussed with the Qatari side opportunities for cooperation between the two sides.
Established in 1999, Qatar Polymer Factory produces packaging products and polypropylene plastic bags, and exports its products to the GCC countries, the Middle East, Europe and the United States of America.
Mr. Mohammed bin Towar Al Kuwari, First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber, stressed in a press statement during the tour the Chamber’s support for national industries and promoting them during joint meetings it organizes with foreign trade delegations.
He pointed out the great development witnessed by the Qatari industry, coinciding with the pumping of many important investments into the industrial sectors to meet the growing needs of the local Qatari market and enhance exports abroad.
The First Vice President of Qatar Chamber added that Qatari exports in complementary industries were able to achieve leadership and attracted the attention of investors and business owners from outside Qatar, noting that Qatar Chamber supports the establishment of investments and partnerships between Qatari factories and foreign investors in order to achieve the desired development in the local product and increase the exports of the Qatari private sector.
For his part, Mr. Nasser bin Mubarak Al-Dulaimi, CEO of Qatar Polymer Company, expressed his appreciation for the support of the Qatar Chamber and its tireless efforts to promote the Qatari industry, noting that the factory is keen to participate in the “Made in Qatar” exhibition organized by the Chamber to promote Qatari industries.
He pointed out that there are discussions with the Mozambican trade delegation to cooperate and enter the Mozambican market, as part of the factory’s plans to expand in foreign markets, as Qatar Polymer exports its products to 29 countries, adding that there is a trend to enter the South American and African markets.
The business delegation, headed by His Excellency Mr. Amilcar Baia Tifan, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Mozambique, met with Qatari businessmen last week during a meeting held by the Qatar Chamber, during which they discussed ways of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, the investment opportunities available in Mozambique and the sectors in which investment can be made.
