Qatar Chamber concluded the training program “Commercial Arbitration Specialist in the Field of Social Responsibility,” which was held for the first time in the Arab region. The program was held in cooperation between the Chamber, the Regional Consulting Network, and the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration at Qatar Chamber, with the participation of 20 trainees.
The program, which lasted for three days, aimed to introduce the relationship of commercial arbitration to social responsibility, and strategies for arbitration to address social responsibility issues in terms of advantages and challenges.
The program also addressed the inclusion of social responsibility clauses in contracts, resolving disputes resulting from environmental and social impacts, and focused on the role of arbitration institutions in promoting the concept of social responsibility. The program also reviewed examples of arbitration cases in issues related to the environment, sustainability and social responsibility.
Mr. Ibrahim Shahbik, Secretary General of the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration at Qatar Chamber, handed over certificates to the trainees at the conclusion of the program, which targeted those working in the legal field and commercial arbitration, and specialists in the fields of social responsibility.
