The Ministry of Transportation revealed the National Strategy for the Logistics Services Sector (Transportation and Storage Sector) 2024-2030, which aims to consolidate the position of the State of Qatar as a global logistics pole, support economic diversification, and enable merchants and investors to move commercially at the lowest cost and time.
The Ministry, through its official accounts on social media sites, reviewed the axes of the national strategy for the logistics sector 2024-2030, which include creating and attracting trade flows, modernizing and enhancing local logistics services, and facilitating cross-border operational operations and transit shipping. The axes of the strategy also included establishing a work structure that ensures the effectiveness of Governance and coordination within this vital sector.
Regarding the most prominent programs, initiatives and basic projects to achieve these requirements, the Ministry stated that they include efficiency through advanced infrastructure, accessibility through modern connectivity methods, innovation through digital transformation, and sustainability through the use of clean energy.
The Ministry of Transport also indicated that it is working to implement this strategy in coordination with the relevant authorities in the country, in support of implementing the objectives of the third national development strategy (2024-2030), and enhancing the position of the State of Qatar among the best countries in the world in the logistical efficiency index, in order to achieve Qatar Vision 2030.

In light of the increasing importance of the land transport sector in enhancing the growth and competitiveness of the economy of the State of Qatar, the sector continues its efforts aimed at developing an advanced infrastructure that is consistent with the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030. The state has allocated 95% of its huge investments in infrastructure to projects regulating land transport with the aim of increasing the length of Highways to 8,500 kilometers, in addition to the construction of 200 bridges and 30 new tunnels.

In this context, the Ministry launched the comprehensive plan for transport in the State of Qatar 2050, which constitutes a road map for investment in land transport infrastructure, and defines future frameworks and directions for developing transport networks at the national level, ensuring their integration with land use, urban development, population growth and meeting the demand for systems. transportation in the future.
Sustainability is the cornerstone of this plan because this concept has a significant impact on economic and environmental development, by achieving a balance between the requirements of economic growth and environmental protection and contributing to reducing climate change through implementing long-term initiatives that contribute to the transition to sustainable transportation.

The plan also works to achieve financial sustainability for the land transport sector by covering the largest possible amount of operating costs by implementing transport demand management policies, and encouraging partnership between the public and private sectors to invest and contribute to building and operating transport systems.
