The Consumer Consultation Center in the German state of Bavaria stressed the need to be careful when taking Ashwagandha because there is still a lack of reliable scientific evidence at the level of both health benefits and damage.
The center pointed out that many people who took the Ashwaghanda products complained of some healthy troubles such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness and rash, and there are also reports of liver damage.
The Ashwaganda is an evergreen shrub that grows in Asia and Africa, and contains chemicals that may help calm the brain, reduce swelling, reduce blood pressure, and discharge the immune system, according to a web -MID report.
These are possible benefits according to studies, but there are no clear and decisive results, and the Ashwaganda cannot be recommended as a treatment for insomnia, for example.
Medicinal reactions
There may also be reactions with medications, such as high blood pressure, diabetes and autoimmune diseases. Therefore, anyone who takes such medications should avoid taking Ashwaghanda products.
Children, pregnant women, lactating women and people with liver disease should also not take the Ashwaghanda preparations.
It is noteworthy that the Ashwaghanda products are available in the form of capsules, powders and tea, and many health benefits such as promotion of energy and calm nerves are attributed to them.
